I’m Bradley Kachnowicz, a self-taught artist whose creative journey began in the farmlands and forests of Wisconsin. Those wild places were my first classrooms—fields, streams, and barns full of light and texture. As a kid, I was always making something: sketching deer in the pasture, painting imaginary worlds, or fashioning superhero and holiday costumes from scraps and cardboard. Even though no one else in my family was an artist, I was surrounded by people who encouraged curiosity. Family, friends, and teachers never told me to stop imagining—they told me to keep going.
The first time someone wanted to buy one of my drawings, it changed everything. That small exchange of belief—someone valuing what I created—lit a spark that has never gone out. I realized art could be more than a pastime; it could be a life.
Today, every brushstroke still carries that sense of wonder. My work is rooted in exploration—of color, form, and emotion—and in gratitude for those early days when imagination had no boundaries. Whether I’m painting from memory or pure feeling, I’m still that kid in the sandbox with a homemade costume, seeing the world as something to build, color, and share.
